Pathwise Labs apply graduate-level psychology to explore particular areas of desired cultural change, but where there is significant conscious or unconscious resistance.

In a lab, carefully guided by expert facilitators, participants co-create experiments that allow difficult topics to be approached without triggering typical reactivity. These experiments encourage individual and team curiosity and enable exploration of topics that directly affect performance of complex human systems.

Companies have used labs to explore diversity and inclusion, feedback and reviews, hybrid remote-and-local team dynamics, and hiring practices. Pathwise also creates custom labs to address unique situations that can benefit by this experimentation approach. Pathwise Labs can occur either virtually or in person.

Pathwise labs borrow liberally from the Pathwise Leader Program in order to support this focused experimentation approach.

Source topics can include Transference Analysis (powerful yet unseen dynamics that affect individuals and can create counter-productive reactions in others), Intrinsic Motivation (various drives that compel one from within), Dialectic (principles and structure of the Socratic method of thinking and discourse used to unlock creativity and innovation), and Cognitive Development (motivations and perceptions dependent on one’s stage of cognitive maturity), among others.

In addition to supporting immediate intervention around specific topics, labs provide an active introduction to the Pathwise experience. For teams and organizations looking to create persistent change across multiple areas of concern, labs can serve as effective early steps in a longer-running Pathwise culture program.
